  I just wanted to take the opportunity to review Mark Nermyr as a criminal defense lawyer. First, I found myself in Phoenix AZ on a business trip when I was charged with a number of criminal offenses. Some of these charges were, in fact, quite serious. As a result, my wife and I flew back out to Phoenix to "shop for" and interview attorneys. Make no mistake, I was looking for the "right guy". Sure, any experienced criminal defense attorney, for the most part, can handle your run of the mill DUI/traffic/misdemeanor in all likelihood with relative success. My mission was entirely different; find the right criminal defense attorney, with the knowledge, experience, and desire to "win" which would benefit me. Further, I wanted an attorney that listened to me as a client as well as a person, and believed (within reason) my perspective of the events which led to criminal charges being filed against me. Prior to meeting Mark (and Chad), we had interviewed around 8 other criminal defense attorneys. All of these were pre screened prior to meeting and interviewing, so we were trying to target the best criminal defense lawyers in town. No doubt, we met some very skilled and knowledgable attorneys and many I believe would have been good choices. However, Mark distinguished himself immediately. I knew when we started speaking I felt differently about our meeting than I had with the other attorneys. His experience was readily apparent, he had the experience necessary to handle the case, and he and his partner both had good working relationships with local prosecutors. But, perhaps what set him apart from all the others was the fact that he seemed genuinely concerned about what had transpired, the charges, the context of the case, and the seriousness of it all. Perhaps it's very difficult to parlay into words, but Mark made me feel like he was going to "be there through it all" with me. As a guide, mentor, advocate, and just a person. Never judgemental, he often took the very opposite approach, of being empathetic. And, I'm happy that I was correct in my observations of Mark, because he was in fact there for it all, in exactly the way I described. Simply stated, I could not have made a better choice than Mark Nermyr. I appreciate all that he did for me and will always be grateful. Lastly, as I stated in the introduction, I was in fact facing very serious charges. Mark worked hard on my behalf. He advised me on a number of occasions. Very evident when giving his advice and counsel was his desire to give you the best possible advice regarding your situation. He wanted what was best for you and clearly and articulately informed you of your options, the potential consequences of each choice, and further the likelihood of the various scenarios unfolding, if pursued. Very thorough, competent, and professional all the way through, Mark was indeed the "right guy" I had been looking for when searching for an attorney. I rate Mark 5 stars. If I could give him 5 more, I would! Hands down, no complaints and 100% happy with his counsel.

  I am a law student at Arizona State University. Recently, I had the opportunity to intern for Mark Nermyr. I was able to work with him and learn from him on cases ranging from DUI and shoplifting to sexual assault and murder. Mark treats each client with the utmost respect regardless of the charges. He really wants to make sure that each client is treated fairly and does not get lost within the judicial system. Mark is very aware of the procedural difficulties that many of his clients face. He ensures that these difficulties do not become impediments in the clients' defenses by personally calling clients to make sure that they are at hearings and negotiating with prosecutors for the best plea deals possible. Mark thinks about every aspect of a case and often comes up with innovative defenses. He is well respected by others in the legal profession, including judges and prosecutors.
